Registration

Overview

​Registration for Mahal is through the Mahal Portal. If you need to send over additional documents you may do so through our email: prearmyprogram@gmail.com.

It is important to submit all of the necessary forms and documents on time. Your candidacy may be withdrawn if you fail to submit all necessary documents.


Required Documents

Documents needed for registration depend on your legal status in Israel. Please check this page​ to understand your legal status in Israel (either Ben Mehagrim or Tourist.)

If you are of “Tourist” status, you are required to have “Jewish Agency Approval” for your application and must submit some of your documents directly to the Jewish Agency. The Jewish Agency approval process will be detailed by email after your initial registration.


Documents needed for “Tourist” candidates:

Mahal Registration Form​ for tourists.

Medical form​ signed and stamped by a doctor.

Your passport(s). Must be valid for three years from the month of requested draft.

Your parents’ passports.​

Confirmation letter from the Jewish agency, which requires:

Letter from a Rabbi confirming you and at least one of your parents/grandparents are Jewish.​

Criminal background check + apostille stamp.

Birth certificate + Apostille stamp.​



Documents needed for “Ben Mehagrim” Candidates:

Mahal Registration Form​ for Bnei Mehagrim.

Medical form​ signed and stamped by a doctor.

Your passport(s). Must be valid for three years from the month of requested draft

Your parents’ passports, both foreign an​d Israeli, if applicable


Documents Needed for Combat Service (regardless of legal status)

Combat roles are voluntary regardless of your medical profile, and you must have your parents' consent to enlist to any combat role. Please note that once you submit the document indicating you are interesterd in combat service, the army may assign you to any ANY combat unit depending on its needs - it will not necessarily your top choice unit.


The following documents are optional. Their porpuse is for you to indicate you are interested in a combat role, and prove your parents' consent for this.​​

If you have siblings: Change of Indication form.​ Signed by both parents and stamped by a lawyer​​ or notary.

If you are an only child: Statement of volunteering of Only Childs to Service with no Limitations.
