This track is intended for religious candidates who wish to join a dedicated religious unit. The IDF is opening more Haredi units as time passes. As of now- the options for Mahal Haredi are the units called: Netzach Yehuda (97th Battalion in Kfir), Tomor in Givati, or Chetz in the Paratroopers Brigade (Tsanhanim). In this track, you will enlist directly into the Haredi unit for a service of 18 months (if approved for this track at the time of the interview). This course is intended for participants with both high and basic Hebrew language skills – there are Hebrew lessons in the unit as needed.
All candidates of Mahal Haredi are required to undergo a four-week pre-army program for recruitment before they enlist in the IDF. The pre-army program is provided by Mahal and the Jewish Agency. To get accepted to a Charedi unit you will need to go through an interview with a rabbi, and to go to Chetz (Tsanhanim)- you will need to go through Yom Sayarot (tryouts).
